We rarely buy items directly. Instead we offer consignment.

Consignment is the process of reselling items through a store whereby the item owner and the shop owner retain a portion of the sale.
First you gather your gently used or even your unused items to be resold. Then you sign a consignment agreement where the store agrees to hold, stage and sell your items. The store will price the items and usually, items are reduced monthly for up to 6 months to encourage a sale. Once the items are sold, the owner receives a percentage of the sale price as stipulated in the agreement (or store credit). Things to consider:

*Since consignment shops sell items seasonally to ensure items are fresh and hip, items that are not in season will generally be rejected.
*Consignment shops may not yield as quick a return as say a yard sale or eBay but you do not have to worry about storage or shipping concerns.
*Consignment isn't like a thrift store where the items are donated. We carry desirable pieces and you retain ownership until they are sold.
*Also, consignment shops are more environmentally friendly and community centered; the sales go directly into the business instead of Private Corp X.

Prices depend on the label, style, condition, current trends and likelihood of sale. Most items are priced between $5 and $20. Designer items, vintage items, new items and custom-made items are generally priced higher, but are still far lower than retail.

You are encouraged to bring in as many items for resale, consignment or donation that fit Tightfisted Fashion's criteria. Please read the consignment agreement carefully before donating to ensure you receive maximum payout upon sale.

We are looking for gently worn, clean, modern styles within the last year or so. We also accept genuine retro or vintage styles, as well as older items that mimic current trends. We accept men's, women's and junior sizes clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, and vintage collectibles. Sorry but we do not resell or consign children's clothing, under garments or sleepwear. Please remember this is a resale and consignment store, not a thrift store or Goodwill; items must be nice enough to encourage resale. The quality and selection of merchandise is only as good as what we receive.
